Almost a Million Euros are Annually Distributed from the General Fund and the Dedicated Funds

In addition to its general fund, the Turku University Foundation has at present more than 60 dedicated funds. From these it annually awards grants totalling almost one million euros. The capital of the funds has accumulated from donations from private individuals and companies. Donors can set up their own dedicated funds or add their donation to an existing fund. The diversity of research fields at the University of Turku provides opportunities for supporting different branches of science. At the end of 2005, the sum total of all funds was more than 30 million euros. The dividends received, interest and rental income, as well as other profit from these assets finances the grants.
